Description

• S2O (S2Ö) is a wall or ceiling mounted reinforced sound-attenuating transfer air device, designed for installation facilities with security requirements, e.g. cells or detention premises where fixed installation is desired.

• The unit features a robust construction with a solid front plate, complemented by partial 2 mm perforation and is particularly suitable for spaces that require increased security where inmates are left unattended.

• Special mounting frames for security class 1 facilities (SE standard) are included. The product can be installed without mounting frames in security class 2 and 3 facilities.

• The product and mounting frame have rectangular proportions and are installed in a circular opening.

• The unit is designed to meet the recommendations for special facilites according to swedish standards and also corresponds to the penal service design requirements to minimize self-harming behavior.

• For insulated stud walls, the accessory OFI-C (ÖFI-C) is recommended, an elastic wall penetration sleeve for transfer air units that prevents the spread of insulation fibres in air flows. Unlike conventional sheet metal wall penetrations installed for the same purpose, OFI-C does not impair the sound properties of the transfer air device.

• The device is developed as a complement to the existing security range with perforation of 6 mm, e.g. SOD.


Delivery form

• The product is delivered in pairs, excluding installation frame RAM-S2O (S2Ö).

• RAM-S2O (RAM-S2Ö): Installation frame supplied in pairs for increased security requirements. Installation with the frame is mandatory in order to meet the security requirements for Swedish class 1 facilities. The frame is optional and the product is approved without the frame for class 2 and 3 facilites,

• OFI-C (ÖFI-C): Fibre blocker for transfer air units that prevents the spread of insulation fibres in air flows.

– Elastic wall penetration sleeve for transfer air units mounted in insulated stud walls that prevents spreading of fibres and particles into the air flow. 

– Does not affect free area or sound performance, unlike sheet-metal wall penetration sleeves.

– Made from environmentally friendly, flexibe and flame-retardant material.

• S2O (S2Ö): The product is made of sheet steel, powder-coated in white RAL standard color, internally insulated with washable and surface-coated sound absorber. The product's insulation consists of 100% recycled, non-allergenic, hydrophobic PET plastic material. It is free from formaldehyde and, when burned, only carbon dioxide and water are produced.

 

• RAM-S2O (RAM-S2Ö): Mounting frame, made of hot-dip galvanized sheet steel.

 

• OFI-C (ÖFI-C): Made from environmentally friendly, flame-retardant polyurethane foam. The material is CertiPUR and Oeko-Tex certified.


• The included pop rivets are intended to be used for the holes in the donor front and must be applied whether or not the frame part is used.

• The product is installed in pairs with (class 1 facilities) or without (class 2 and 3) mounting frames on either side of a wall over circular holecutting.

• The frame parts (accessory) have pre-drilled holes for screw mounting. Each frame is secured with screws (not included).

• The diffuser body is secured to the ceiling or wall with 6 mm wood screws with a flat countersunk head.

• The diffuser front is riveted with 5 mm stainless steel rivets and additionally secured with 6 mm flat countersunk head wood screws as deemed necessary. Rivets are included in the delivery, other mounting materials are not included.

• When fibre protection sleeve OFI-C / ÖFI-C is used, the protection sleeve must be placed in the cut-out before installing the transfer unit and mounting frame.

• The sleeve penetration's elastic properties make it easy to press into the hole in the stud wall.
